Boon Edam’s North American Headquarters Receives SHARP Certificate at Formal Ceremony

Boon Edam Inc. has been presented with a Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program (SHARP) certificate during a formal ceremony on March 2.

The ceremony was held at Boon Edam’s Lillington, NC, manufacturing facility. Patrick Nora, president and managing director of Boon Edam Manufacturing, USA, opened the ceremony with a welcome message, followed by an overview of the SHARP program provided by Occupational Safety Consultants Blair Byrd and Bruce Pearson.

North Carolina Labor Commissioner, Josh Dobson, also spoke, followed by remarks from Harnett County Commissioner Chairman, Lewis Weatherspoon, and Boon Edam safety representative, Ginger Pasley.
Lillington Mayor, Glenn McFadden, also attended the ceremony. Other confirmed attendees included additional Harnett County staff members and Boon Edam employees.

“We are honored and delighted to be receiving our official SHARP certificate and flag, designating us as one of a few small businesses dedicated to an exceptionally safe and healthy workplace,” Nora said. “This is a recognition Boon Edam North America has been working towards for many years and we are all excited to see the fruits of our labor come to life.”

Boon Edam’s North Carolina facility received SHARP accreditation from the North Carolina Department of Labor in December 2021. Administered through the OSHA, the SHARP Recognition Program certifies employers that have established, implemented and maintained exceptional workplace safety standards.
