Converged Security Trends Take Center Stage at ISC West

More than 29,000 professionals gathered in Las Vegas to explore the integration of physical protection and digital infrastructure.

The security industry established a new framework for integrated resilience last week as ISC West 2026 concluded at The Venetian Expo. The event, hosted in collaboration with the SIA, drew 750 exhibiting brands to address the shifting landscape where physical and cyber security perimeters blend.

This year's conference emphasized the intersection of physical protection and IT infrastructure. The debut of the Security Experience Center and the Digital Trust & Identity area highlighted a transition toward a holistic approach to security, bridging the gap between hardware, software and the Internet of Things.

Keynote speakers addressed the evolving nature of global threats. Presentations covered topics ranging from identity fraud and emerging technologies to corporate protection in a digital environment. Analysts also explored the human psychology behind cyberattacks, reinforcing a theme that modern security requires both technical intelligence and human-centric strategy.

Several new initiatives were introduced during the event:

  • Digital Trust and Identity: An area focused on biometric authentication and unified access management.
  • Security Experience Center: An immersive environment demonstrating real-time integration of biometrics and environmental sensors.
  • ISC StartUps: A platform for emerging companies to showcase disruptive technologies, including agentic AI and autonomous security operations.
  • Cyber Hub: A hands-on activation featuring live hacking exercises to help professionals improve technical expertise in IoT security.

The educational program expanded this year, featuring more than 120 sessions. For the first time, the curriculum utilized AI-driven summaries and real-time translations to assist attendees with technical content.

Industry leaders noted that the high engagement at the show floor and conference rooms reflects a broader trend of "architecting resilience" rather than simply managing risk. The event serves as a bellwether for the industry's trajectory over the next decade as digital and physical domains continue to merge.

The conference will return to Las Vegas in April 2027, following the ISC East event scheduled for November at the Javits Center in New York City.
