Siemens Appoints Markus Grabmeier as Electrical Products CEO

Siemens names a new chief executive officer to lead its global smart infrastructure and low-voltage electrical distribution business.

Siemens has named Markus Grabmeier as the new chief executive officer of its Electrical Products business unit within the company’s Smart Infrastructure division.

Grabmeier takes over the role from Andreas Matthé, who is retiring after leading the business unit for 15 years. Matthé, a 40-year veteran of Siemens, will remain with the company in an advisory capacity for a brief transitional period.

Grabmeier returns to Siemens from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, where he most recently served as a member of the executive management committee for Alfanar. Prior to that role, he spent nearly 14 years at Siemens in various leadership positions. His previous experience within the company includes serving as head of global manufacturing and working as executive vice president responsible for China and East Asia within the electrical products division.

The Siemens Electrical Products business unit employs roughly 26,000 people across 25 production sites globally. The division manufactures low-voltage products and software systems used for electrical power distribution, monitoring and circuit protection.

The division has recently focused on integrating semiconductor technology into electrical circuits to improve switching speeds and system sustainability, targeting growth in data centers and the broader energy transition market.
