Motorola Solutions Earns Platinum Status for Dispatch Integration

The Monitoring Association recognizes Motorola Solutions for accelerating digital alarm-to-911 data exchange inside emergency call centers.

The Monitoring Association named Motorola Solutions a Platinum Communications Partner for its role in advancing the Automated Secure Alarm Protocol, the organization announced.

The designation recognizes the company's efforts to integrate digital alarm communications directly into the computer-aided dispatch systems used by emergency communications centers nationwide.

The Automated Secure Alarm Protocol, or ASAP, creates a direct digital connection between private security monitoring firms and public safety agencies. Instead of relying on manual telephone calls from alarm companies, the system transmits alarm data directly into emergency dispatch workflows.

Motorola Solutions recently expanded a cloud-based capability across its command center software portfolio, which includes CommandCentral Aware, PremierOne, and Flex. The integration allows agencies utilizing these dispatch systems to deploy the ASAP service with fewer technical barriers, lowering implementation costs and deployment times.

According to emergency communications data, the digital exchange eliminates manual call handling, reduces transcription errors and accelerates dispatch times for field responders.

A recent deployment at the St. Joseph County 911 Consolidated Communications Center in Indiana, the first in the nation to implement the cloud-based integration, is projected to save telecommunicators 350 hours annually by eliminating phone coordination for automated alarms.

The Monitoring Association and Motorola Solutions maintain ongoing operational coordination and working sessions to review deployment progress and expand the program's reach to additional public safety agencies.
