9Line Launches Cellphone 911 Alerts for Onsite Security

9Line Pinpoint sends caller locations to security personnel within seconds of the call and provides contact information to 911 dispatchers.

Security teams can receive a cellphone 911 caller’s location within seconds of the call being placed through a new service from 9Line, according to the company.

The St. Louis company’s 9Line Pinpoint service identifies calls originating within a customer’s geofenced property and notifies onsite personnel. Coverage includes locations such as parking structures, multistory buildings and outdoor campus spaces.

The service also supplies the security team’s contact details to the 911 center receiving the call, allowing dispatchers to communicate directly with personnel at the property.

The company said cellphone calls can leave onsite staff unaware of an emergency, unlike calls through landlines or connected campus telephone systems. Providing location information could help security personnel assist callers before emergency crews arrive and direct responders to them.
