The Field of Flags, a traveling war memorial dedicated by the Somers Congregational Church in Somers, Conn., began in October 2005 with 2,231 American flags, one for each American solider who died serving his or her country in Iraq and Afghanistan. The idea for the memorial came about as members of the church considered what they could do to show support for the troops. Each casualty reminded them of the dangers the soldiers face every day. The flags honor those who have given their lives as well as their families, whose lives have been forever changed.

Bosch Security Systems will provide communications and security technology to a Hamburg-Moorburg coal-fired power plant run by Vattenfall Europe Generation AG & Co. KG. The contract includes everything from public address systems to alarm signaling and evacuation, as well as fire detection technology, video surveillance, and communication and low-voltage networks for dual-unit plants.
When two camera prototypes were tested in a bombing last month aboard a mass transit bus, not only was the Transportation Security Administration interested, so were the cities of New York, Washington, Chicago and Seattle.
At the lower end of the video surveillance market, home and small business owners have traditionally installed analog cameras and DVRs to cover their security needs. However, remote video monitoring and surveillance (RVMaS) solutions are now vying for a share of this market.
