Tamron offers two F/1.4, 4- to 12-millimeter varifocal lenses, models M12VM412 and M12VG412, that are compatible with ½-inch format megapixel-resolution cameras. The lenses offer uniform high resolution and high contrast across the image. In addition to reducing aberration through the use of aspherical lens elements, the design also makes the lenses more compact. A multilayer coating reduces ghosting and flare.
