Avigilon Releases High-Definition IP Surveillance Cameras

Avigilon recently released at ISC West four new HD IP surveillance cameras that deliver  performance for the same cost as analog cameras. And with the Avigilon Analog Video Encoder it is now possible to migrate to HD surveillance while leveraging existing analog camera investments.

“The future of surveillance is IP-based HD -- analog and standard IP cameras just don’t deliver the image quality today’s users demand,” said Jean-Pierre (JP) Forest, director of security solutions at Avigilon. “With our new line of low cost HD cameras and analog video encoders, users can install HD IP cameras in all new locations and still use their existing analog cameras, making it easy and cost efficient to future proof their existing surveillance infrastructure. It just doesn’t make sense to buy more analog cameras when you can get the better protection of HD cameras for the same price.”

Avigilon’s four new HD IP cameras are available in one megapixel (720p), two megapixels (1080p), three megapixels, and five megapixels and can automatically adjust iris and exposure to capture high quality detailed images making it possible to reduce the total number of cameras required. With built in support for High Definition Stream Management (HDSM), Avigilon’s four new cameras are able to leverage Avigilon Control Center’s Progressive Lossless Compression to deliver the lowest bandwidth and longest record times of any high definition surveillance cameras while preserving image quality. The new HD IP cameras also offer PoE to reduce installation costs and Alarm Input and Outputs to easily integrate into current alarm systems for further performance and cost gains.
