Digitus Biometrics Announces Reseller Program

Digitus Biometrics announces a new reseller program, Digitus Alliance, that makes the company’s, biometric access control systems available to select integrators throughout the United States.

Digitus’ direct sales efforts for its access control systems have secured nearly 200 installations, including Hunter Army Airfield / Ft. Stewart, Memorial University Medical Center, and the United States Naval Academy. In early 2008, the company introduced an IP-networked version, sparking a dramatic increase in demand that the Digitus Alliance Program will help satisfy.

Integrators who join the Digitus Alliance Program receive numerous sales-support benefits, including product training, 24/7 technical support and qualified sales leads, when agreeing to purchase Digitus product at minimum annual levels. Members agreeing to purchase at accelerated levels also receive significant pricing discounts.

“Digitus is a welcome addition to our line of secure access products,” said Jeremy Ethier Sr., owner of Boston-based Apex Security Inc., the first member of the Digitus Alliance Program. “Virtually every large-scale installation we handle includes rooms with especially high security requirements, and Digitus satisfies those requirements with an easy to install, simple to administer and highly effective secure access solution.”

Each Digitus unit includes two components: a fingerprint reader with keypad for placement outside a door, and a controller located securely behind the locked door. The fingerprint reader uses biometrics technology to detect a live fingerprint, and commands the controller to open the door after verifying user identity. The networked version uses secure TCP/IP communications between the central management software and remote units installed worldwide for user enrollment, unit management and report generation.
