Las Vegas Transit Authority Deploys Mobile Video Surveillance Solution

March Networks, a provider of intelligent IP video and business analysis applications, announced recently that the Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada (RTC) is using the company's mobile video surveillance solutions for security and risk management on its para-transit and fixed route buses.

RTC is the transit authority, the transportation-planning agency and the regional traffic management agency for Southern Nevada. Its 520-vehicle fleet serves the greater Las Vegas Valley, including the Vegas Strip, and carries more than 60 million riders annually.

To date the commission has deployed more than 190 of its buses and para-transit vehicles with March Networks ruggedized mobile recorders as part of an ongoing commitment to passenger safety and liability protection. The solution includes the Company's advanced system management platform which provides ongoing health status monitoring and manages automatic wireless download of event based video as vehicles return to two of the RTC's service depots.
