Datastrip Biometric Terminal Recognized
Datastrip has recently been honored by Frost & Sullivan for Product Differentiation Innovation of the Year in the world biometrics market for the company’s DSV2+
TURBO handheld biometric terminal.
The award recognizes technological advances that are expected to significantly increase the rate of technical change in the biometrics industry.
The DSV2+TURBO is field-proven in military, law enforcement, Homeland and maritime (ports) security, as well as government applications for on-the-spot identity verification. The unit is capable of supporting facial, fingerprint and iris biometrics, and it is fully customizable and capable of instant ID verification by reading smartcards, driver's licenses, government-issued ID cards and numerous other forms of ID. The DSV2+TURBO unit’s extended long-life Lithium polymer battery also provides up to 14 hours of use between charges.
The two-pound reader was the first handheld single-fingerprint capture device approved for purchase by federal agencies under the General Services Administration’s FIPS 201 evaluation program.
“We are privileged to be recognized for advancing the biometric industry,” said Joe Delaney, Datastrip’s vice president of sales and marketing. “Continuous innovation is one of Datastrip’s core values, knowing that, ultimately, it impacts the safety and security of individuals and families.”
The Frost & Sullivan Award for Product Differentiation Innovation is presented each year to the company that has best demonstrated the ability to develop and advance products with more innovative capabilities than competing vendors and products.
