Avigilon Expands North American Team

Avigilon today announced the appointment of Dan Ireland as the company's regional sales director for Eastern Canada. Ireland will be responsible for meeting the growing market demand for Avigilon's award-winning high definition (HD) surveillance solutions in the region.

Ireland joins Avigilon from DVTel Inc., a network video software provider, where he served as the regional sales manager for Canada, responsible for sales channel development and management, solution design, and product training. Prior to DVTel, Ireland sharpened his technical and market expertise as owner and president of DI Associates, a security consultancy. Previously, Ireland was a regional manager at Securac Inc., a provider of risk and compliance management software and services, and at Access Direct Sales, Inc., a manufacturers representatives company, where he designed security systems for government, education, and private sector clients.

"We continue to experience unprecedented worldwide demand for our award-winning HD and megapixel video surveillance systems," said Dave Tynan, vice president of global sales at Avigilon. "Dan will leverage his knowledge of the market and technical expertise to meet the needs of our growing customer base in Eastern Canada."

Based in Ontario, Ireland will manage all sales activities pertaining to Eastern Canadian markets including Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, Newfoundland, and Labrador. Ireland will manage customer, integrator, and consultant relationships by providing technical expertise and onsite support, and will provide end-user feedback to Avigilon to help implement product enhancements and new product releases.

"Avigilon's end-to-end surveillance system, with its high quality megapixel cameras and the industry's only open enterprise video management software designed specifically for HD performance, is truly unequalled in the surveillance industry today," said Dan Ireland. "I am excited to be part of a dynamic, growing company that is changing the face of surveillance."
