Massachusetts Convention Center Authority Deploys OnSSI IP Video Management System

The Massachusetts Convention Center Authority (MCCA) has deployed an IP video management and control solution from On-Net Surveillance Systems, Inc. (OnSSI) to manage feeds from video surveillance cameras at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center, the John B. Hynes Veterans Memorial Convention Center, the MassMutual Center in Springfield, Mass. and the Boston Common Garage.

The system uses a suite of OnSSI products built around the NetDVMS large-scale IP video surveillance management system designed for multi-site/multi-server NVR and camera management applications. NetDVMS provides powerful, enterprise-level recording, archiving and event management capabilities for an unlimited number of cameras, through convergence with physical security and IT systems, advanced content analytics modules and Universal Camera Support.

MCCA is currently using OnSSI’s NetGuard-EVS video client as its main monitoring and investigation interface, with plans to migrate in the future to Ocularis Client Lite, a new high-performance video client for NetDVMS. Ocularis Client Lite delivers instant playback of a single camera with other cameras for spot monitoring; optical and digital PTZ via a virtual joystick; one-way audio; carousel functionality to provide full interaction with any other video window; event investigation and reporting; and push video upon an event.

The NetMatrix add-on virtual video matrix switch software module controls distribution of video to multiple users across the network. The NetSwitcher allows MCCA to send any camera view to any local or remote display within the network via an intuitive mapbased, touch-screen controller.

Officers can monitor video even while on patrol using NetPDA mobile clients. Video analytics by Agent Video Intelligence Inc. (Agent Vi) are also integrated into the OnSSI system, and MCCA is a beta site for Ocularis, OnSSI's newest intelligent IP video management and control platform.

The OnSSI system was chosen by an evaluation team consisting of MCCA Public Safety Department managers and Information Technology Department managers in the network and database fields.

Coordinating the evaluation process was Steven L. Feinberg, Vice President, BCM Controls Corporation, who integrated the system and worked closely with the MCCA to make the system a complete success.

“A successful system of this scale is clear evidence of OnSSI's ability to transform how video is managed at the enterprise level,” said Gadi Piran, president of OnSSI. “We are happy to have the Massachusetts Convention Center Authority join the rapidly growing ranks of our satisfied customers.”

  • A8V MIND

    A8V MIND

Hexagon’s Geosystems presents a portable version of its Accur8vision detection system. A rugged all-in-one solution, the A8V MIND (Mobile Intrusion Detection) is designed to provide flexible protection of critical outdoor infrastructure and objects. Hexagon’s Accur8vision is a volumetric detection system that employs LiDAR technology to safeguard entire areas. Whenever it detects movement in a specified zone, it automatically differentiates a threat from a nonthreat, and immediately notifies security staff if necessary. Person detection is carried out within a radius of 80 meters from this device. Connected remotely via a portable computer device, it enables remote surveillance and does not depend on security staff patrolling the area. 3
