JVC Introduces Four New Analog Cameras At ISC East

JVC Professional Products, a division of JVC U.S.A., introduced four new high-resolution, 1/3-inch CCD analog surveillance cameras at ISC East.

The TK-C2201U and TK-C2201WPU are compact, fixed dome cameras, while the TK-C9200U and TK-C9300U are box-style cameras, all with outstanding low light performance.

All four new models provide high resolution with 580 TV lines and feature a new 12-bit digital signal processor, which delivers high quality images. Super LoLux Sensitivity assures precise color reproduction even in challenging lighting conditions, as low as 0.05 lux in color mode and 0.006 lux in black-and-white mode. A variety of other features allow for precise monitoring, including automatic gain control, automatic electronic shutter, 1.4x/2.0x digital zoom and privacy mask for protecting against intrusive monitoring.

A new feature, area white balance, can apply automatic white balance to a specific area of the image, which avoids strong color zones for more accurate color reproduction. Each camera delivers a 52db signal-to-noise ratio, and 3D noise reduction helps reduce picture noise in dark environments.

“Digital video surveillance market share continues to increase, but analog camera installations still represent the majority of deployed CCTV systems,” said Geoff Anderson, JVC marketing and brand manager for security products. “JVC knows how important analog is to the surveillance industry, so we’ve made significant enhancements to improve performance. As a sincere partner to the betterment of our planet, JVC’s new eco-friendly cameras use about 40 percent less power than conventional models.”

The TK-C2201U and TK-C2201WPU fixed dome cameras feature a variable focus lens with a patent pending fine focus adjustment that allows systems integrators to get that last little bit of focus adjustment (in addition to normal focus ring and lock screw). Also appreciated by the systems integrator is the RCA jack, which provides an easy way to check the camera angle, operation and focus on location during or after installation.

The TK-C2201U meets the vandal-resistant standard, providing that extra edge for critical security installations in schools and commercial locations. the TK-C2201WPU features an outdoor-ready, IP66 compliant vandal and tamper proof design. It has a rugged die-cast aluminum main unit, and its polycarbonate dome cover remains damage-free against shocks of more than 50 joules.

The combination of DIP switch settings and built-in, intuitive menus on the TK-C9200U and TK-C9300U cameras make detailed settings easy to manage. For extended dynamic range, the TK-C9300U adds ExDR Plus, a proprietary JVC technology that clearly displays people and objects in the foreground even when they are in front of an extremely bright background. The TK-C9300U is also a true day/night camera. Optimal image quality is achieved through a combination of dual shutter and automatic gain control, which also make darker parts of the image more clearly visible.

The TK-C2201U is available now and TK-C2201WPU will be available in January 2010. The TK-C9200U (MSRP $265) and TK-C9300U (MSRP $332) are now shipping. Lenses for the TK-C9200U and TK-C9300U are sold separately.
