AMAG Technology Helps Secure Oregon Community College

AMAG Technology, a security management and digital video solutions provider, has partnered with Allied Fire & Security, a security system integrator in the Pacific Northwest, and DAP Technologies, a rugged handheld computer manufacturer, to provide an integrated security solution to Lane Community College in Eugene, Ore.  LCC installed AMAG’s Symmetry Enterprise Security Management System with Symmetry Video.

Symmetry Enterprise integrates with DAP Technologies’ Guard System rugged, handheld wireless computers to increase the efficiency of data collection, processing and transmission, producing a highly secure, completely mobile security solution.  The system also integrates with R32, the class scheduling software system used by LCC.  This three-way integration shares the same database allowing mobile enrollment and providing total flexibility.

“AMAG, Allied and DAP offered an integrated, reliable and flexible system that met Lane’s needs now, and will grow with them into the future,” said Allied Fire & Security, Security Consultant, Mark Conger.

“Lane Community College was looking for a deeply integrated IP-centric security system that would satisfy their access control, video and wireless enrollment and verification needs,” said AMAG Technology Vice President of Sales & Marketing, Matt Barnette. “The Symmetry Security Management System was a cost-effective, powerful solution which met their current needs as well as their long-term requirements.”

LCC’s Symmetry Enterprise Security Management System consists of 400 smartcard readers and approximately 50 video cameras.  AMAG’s Symmetry Edge Network Controller, a PoE one-door controller provides LCC with distributed intelligence and fast response to access requests even when offline.
