ISC West Begins

ISC West officially begins this morning. The editors at Security Products have been scheduling appointments and interviews with security industry leaders for the past few weeks.  There will be more than 900 exhibitors showcasing their newest products and services. We look forward to networking with our colleagues to find out what’s new and exciting in the industry.

Here is a glimpse of the highlights in my schedule:

Theia will be demonstrating two new megapixel varifocal lenses that are designed for 1/2.5-inch sensors to compliment 5 megapixel cameras. The day/night lenses also provide sharp images on lower resolution cameras. As an extra incentive, Theia also is offering a chance for visitors to win an Apple iPad.  I’m keeping my fingers crossed!

FLIR is debuting an exciting new handheld thermal security camera that allows law enforcement officers to see clearly in total darkness.

Stanley CSS has booked a private Venetian VIP Media Suite for interviews with company executives.  Topics include the United Kingdom Monitoring Center, the Convergence Center of Excellence, the Custom Solutions Team and Stanley CSS Commercial Performance Scorecard.

Panasonic and Risco Group are hosting swanky receptions at their booth with industry experts on hand for interviews.

L-1 Enterprise Access Solutions officials will be showcasing their 4G Extreme and Weather Resistant fingerprint authentication models. The Extreme Outdoor Solutions come with PIV/TWIC capabilities and have been designed from the ground up to perform in the most undesirable weather and user conditions. The 4G Weather Resistant Solutions have specialized components and a built-in hood that offers protection against outdoor elements.

Sanyo will be exhibiting their line of video security products, including cameras  digital recorders, lenses, monitors, pan/tilt mechanisms, software, video transmission equipment and Web technology.

Telular will be demonstrating the TG-1 Express, a cellular communicator that works with all security alarm panels. It is 80 percent smaller than competitive stand-alone communicators and flexible features and functionality help reduce installation time.

See you on the show floor!
