Iris Recognition System From Sarnoff Wins Best New Product Award At NPS

Iris on the Move from Sarnoff won the Best New Product Award at the Security Industry Association New Product Showcase on Wednesday.

Iris on the Move is an iris recognition device that can capture an iris image at a distance of as much as 10 feet while an individual is in motion and allows a throughput of as many as 30 people per minute.

CyberKey Vault from Videx received the Judges’ Choice Award, which recognizes an entry that offers an especially unique approach to a security solution. The CyberKey Vault is an intelligent key cabinet that automatically programs and dispenses electronic keys and requires the use of an RFID card or PIN.

Eighty five products and services were entered in the NPS. In addition to the Best New Product and Judges’ Choice honors, awards were presented in 14 categories.

“We had an outstanding group of entrants this year, making Sarnoff’s win all the more impressive,” NPS Committee Chair Jennifer Martin said. “We congratulate Sarnoff, Videx and the other winners, and we thank all of the participating companies for launching their products and services in the New Product Showcase.”

The NPS, the premier awards-based marketing program in the security industry, is held annually in conjunction with ISC West. For the first time this year, the program had its own section on the ISC West show floor where attendees could view some of the most innovative security solutions on the market.

Best in Fire/Life Safety: Xtralis VESDA VFT-15 from Xtralis.

Best in Integrated Software, Products and Systems: Virtual Video Recorder from IPVision Software.

Best in Intrusion Detection and Prevention Solutions: PoolSonix Solar Powered Wireless Pool Alarm System from S.R. Smith.

Best in IP Devices, Products and Software: JKW-IP from Aiphone.

Best in Public Safety Solutions: BreezeMAX Extreme 5000 from Alvarion.

Best in Residential and Monitoring Solutions: AES-7094 IntelliPro from AES-IntelliNet.

Best in Tools & Hardware: ViewPoint Console System from Middle Atlantic Products.

Best in Video Analytics: AISight 2.1 from Behavioral Recognition Systems.
