Wrapping Up A Short Visit

Trying to wrap up ISC West and my visit of one day seems hard to do. Weather forced my flight from Dallas to be cancelled late Wednesday, but when I arrived for the Friday finale, I found the show hall crowded and anxious customers ready to talk turkey.

Truly ISC West is the premier tradeshow in the security space.

Kudos to my editorial crew for picking up the slack and bringing you the best coverage possible during the tradeshow.

We will have several videos on our Web site soon that highlight critical opinions about security, products and technology. I hope you’ll take the time to listen and watch Hank Monaco of ADT and Fredrik Nilsson of Axis communications talk about technology and key vertical markets.

I also interviewed newcomer Next Level Security, and have added Video IQ’s Scott Schnell to the video lineup. Both talk extensively about IP video surveillance technology and its place in the industry.

None of this would be possible without our advertisers, who are listed within the newsletter, and I appreciate the support and efforts to bring you the latest news.

One experience I’m very happy to see from ISC West is Frank Abram and Frank DeFina partnering up again to lead the Samsung team. Both men have vast experience in the security sales market. Look for this to be big news in the near future.

While there are numerous new products on display, my one-day adventure limited me to seeing only a few. Hopefully, these same new products will be with us in the 2010 Security Products New Product of the Year competition later this year. Entries are now open and due to us by June 15.

Our next best adventure in the electronic world will come to you from Expo Seguridad in about three weeks. I’m looking forward to traveling to this tradeshow to see what our partners in Mexico and Latin America are doing in the security world.
