The Investment In Mexico Is Astounding

En Español...

Yes, we have some great tradeshows in the United States; the size and space used for a tradeshow counts. Expo Seguridad was held at the Banamex Center, an enormous tradeshow hall, and if it lacks anything, it has more than made up for it in the number of experienced and qualified attendees who went to the show.

Day three of Expo Seguridad was certainly no dud. Although show times are a bit different at the Expo -- from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. -- there was never a shortage of visitors and attendees.

In its eighth year, Expo Seguridad hosted its largest show to date. More than 300 exhibitors invested wisely in the event, and from what I saw, every booth was busy and filled to capacity with attendees. Yes, there were a few “tire kickers” and pen collectors, but overall it appeared to me that attendees were genuinely interested in security solutions.

Many exhibitors were from the United States, but distributors in Mexico City played a key role in bringing traffic to the event. For instance, Inalarm is one of, if not the largest, distributor in Mexico City. They were joined by Sermex and Syscom. Other high level sponsors were DSC, Samsung, Schneider Electric and UTC Fire and Security.

From the United States, it was good to see Pelco, Anixter, Altronix, Axis, Bolide, Boon Edam and DKS Doorking. Also in the mix were, CBC America, Bosch, Digiop, Everfocus and FLIR. The list also includes, HID, HAI, Infinova, NVT, PCSC, Panasonic, Rainbow CCTV, Rolland Safe and Lock, STI, Tyco and Winstead Corp.

There were, of course, other U.S. companies, and other high-profile security manufacturers, such as Axis Communications, March Networks, Cisco Systems, Keri Systems and Linear. The list also includes Milestone Systems, Optelecom, Optex and Southwest Microwave.

For the more than 13,000 attendees, I would have to say that Expo Seguridad was more than they expected and everything they hoped for. I thought it was an incredible success and investment.

Congratulations to Giprex International for a splendid show.
