Lextech Labs’ iRa C3 Wins Chicago Innovation Award

Lextech Labs’ iRa C3 video surveillance software recently received the Chicago Innovation Award in a ceremony at the Goodman Theater in Chicago.

The Chicago Innovation Awards, established in 2002, highlight winners’ innovations that are uniquely filling unmet needs, spark a competitive response in the marketplace, exceed market expectations, achieve financial success and improve people’s lives.

“Winning the Chicago Innovation Award is such a honor for our company,” said Jeff Gibson, president of Lextech Labs. “We felt strongly that we had delivered a solution that is protecting lives and changing the way surveillance systems are used. By winning this award here in Chicago where we are based, allows Lextech Labs to stand proud amongst other Chicago based company winners like Abbott Labs, Molex, and Motorola.”

iRa C3 unlocks the full potential of video surveillance by distributing realtime video to the people that need it the most. It is the preferred mobility viewing and control solution for security and crisis response teams throughout the world. iRa C3 products provide realtime situational awareness to facilitate communication and time-sensitive decision making. Recent upgrades include the ability to view recorded view and live video in a split screen format.

"We are proud to select Lextech Labs and the iRa C3 as a winner of the 2010 Chicago Innovation Awards,” said Tom Kuczmarski, founder and co-chair of the Chicago Innovation Awards. “Through its innovative approach that combines technology and security, Lextech Labs is a company that exemplifies the creative spirit that drives innovation in the Chicago region."

Apps are available for the iPad, iPhone, iPod touch and Blackberry. UNIX, Linux, Mac and Microsoft Windows based web browsers also serve as team viewing platforms. iRa C3 was developed by the Lextech Global Services engineering team.

  • The Future is Happening Outside the Cloud

For years, the cloud has captivated the physical security industry. And for good reason. Remote access, elastic scalability and simplified maintenance reshaped how we think about deploying and managing systems. But as the number of cameras grows and resolutions push from HD to 4K and beyond, the cloud’s limits are becoming unavoidable. Bandwidth bottlenecks. Latency lags. Rising storage costs. These are not abstract concerns. Read Now

  • Unlocking Trustworthy AI: Building Transparency in Security Governance

In situations where AI supports important security tasks like leading investigations and detecting threats and anomalies, transparency is essential. When an incident occurs, investigators must trace the logic behind each automated response to confirm its validity or spot errors. Demanding interpretable AI turns opaque “black boxes” into accountable partners that enhance, rather than compromise, organizational defense. Read Now

  • Seeking Innovative Solutions

Denial, Anger, Bargaining, Depression and Acceptance. You may recognize these terms as the “5 Phases” of a grieving process, but they could easily describe the phases one goes through before adopting any new or emerging innovation or technology, especially in a highly risk-averse industry like security. However, the desire for convenience in all aspects of modern life is finally beginning to turn the tide from old school hardware as the go-to towards more user-friendly, yet still secure, door solutions.
