Avigilon Earns 2010 Red Herring 100 Global Award

Avigilon has been named to the 2010 Red Herring 100 Global list, which honors the year's most promising private ventures that are leading innovation around the world. The Red Herring 100 Global Award is the fifth award that Avigilon received in 2010. In 2010, Avigilon was also named one of the top-five fastest growing technology companies in Canada in the Deloitte Technology Fast 50; earned a spot on Red Herring's North America 100 list; was named BCTIA's "Emerging Company of the Year"; and received the BC Export award for "Best New Exporter."

"This year was especially difficult," said Alex Vieux, publisher and CEO of Red Herring. "Despite the global economic situation, there were so many great companies producing really innovative and amazing products that we had a difficult time narrowing the pool and selecting the winners. Avigilon shows great promise and therefore deserves to be among our list of winners. We know that this year's crop will grow into some amazing companies that are sure to go far."

The Red Herring editorial team selected the most innovative companies from a pool of 1,200 applicants from around the world – the winners from the regional 2010 Red Herring North America, Europe, and Asia Awards. The nominees for the 2010 Red Herring 100 Global Award were evaluated on both quantitative and qualitative criteria such as financial performance, technology innovation, quality of management, execution of strategy and integration into their respective industries.

"Technology industry executives, investors and observers leverage Red Herring's annual lists of top private ventures to identify the companies and emerging technologies that will lead the next wave of innovation," said Alexander Fernandes, president and CEO of Avigilon. "We are honored to be named to the prestigious Red Herring 100 Global list, confirming our industry and technology leadership not only in North America, but around the world."
