Pivot3 Names New Vice President of Engineering

Pivot3 Inc. has appointed Deborah MacCallum as its new vice president of engineering. MacCallum, who reports directly to Pivot3 CEO Bob Fernander, has more than 25 years of experience in information technology. As vice president of engineering, she will drive product strategy and development of the Pivot3 suite of storage appliances.

MacCullum joins a growing executive management team at Pivot3. The company also recently announced Curt Wittich as vice president of sales, Katy Murray as chief financial officer, and Dieter Kondek as vice president of sales, EMEA. The experienced leadership team effectively strengthens the company’s long-term plans to expand into new markets and continue to double sales year after year.

“Pivot3 has tremendous momentum, and the company is clearly committed to developing a superior storage appliance,” MacCallum said. “I am enthusiastic about joining the Pivot3 team and look forward to leveraging cutting-edge strategies to deliver outstanding products.”

MacCallum most recently served as senior director of software engineering for EMC, where she was responsible for overseeing strategic product strategies in network server and storage solutions. She also worked alongside product management and executive staffs to support the development of cloud-based systems. Prior to EMC, MacCallum was vice president of engineering and support for Voyence, which was acquired by EMC, and also served as vice president of development and co-founder at SilverBack Technologies, which was purchased by Dell.

“Deborah’s experience at Silverback, Voyence and EMC will prove significant in developing a next generation, scale-out application platform at Pivot3,” Fernander said. “Her proven success in leading development within growth companies makes her a key asset to the Pivot3 executive team.”
