Opera Solutions Adds Former IBM Deputy CTO to Leadership Team

Opera Solutions LLC, which applies advanced analytics to solve data challenges of many of the world's leading organizations, has announced the addition of Herb Kelsey to its analytics leadership group as vice president of analytics. Kelsey is an expert on cybersecurity, and has advised executive and legislative branches of the U.S. government on cybersecurity strategy and policy.

Kelsey will pilot Opera's initiatives for new product development in cybersecurity and intelligence analysis. "I joined Opera Solutions because their capabilities are unmatched in the industry, making them uniquely qualified to meet these needs."

Most recently, Kelsey served as deputy chief technology officer for cybersecurity at IBM.  Prior to this position, he was a senior solutions architect in IBM's office of strategic transformations. Additionally, at IBM, Kelsey served as chief architect on several classified intelligence programs and also managed business development for the CTO of IBM Federal.  Before IBM, he held senior positions at CA Technologies and ObjectWare, where he was lead technologist for five years.

"Herb brings a singular level of experience in cybersecurity and intelligence analysis to Opera," said Arnab Gupta, CEO and founder of Opera Solutions. "His deep knowledge and expertise, coupled with Opera's capabilities in advanced analytics, allow us to bring powerful resources to help governments fight terrorism and cyber-attacks."
