Datacard Launches Desktop Two-Sided Card Printer

Datacard Group has launched the SD360 two-sided card printer to help primary and secondary schools improve ID card-issuing programs.

“Schools that are looking to get more than staff and student ID cards from their current printer will benefit from the SD360 card printer,” said Russell St. John, senior vice president of global marketing for Datacard Group. “The reliable and easy-to-use SD360 printer will help users produce multi-purpose cards for their schools, simply and without hassle.”

The SD360 card printer’s new technology, faster print speeds and user-friendly interface are designed to help schools streamline their day-to-day operations and create safer environments. Exclusive features include Datacard TruePick anti-jam card handling, as well as TrueMatch color-matching. When used with Datacard-certified supplies, TrueMatch produces vibrant images and logos, as well as crisp, bleed-free bar codes and text. Users can also upgrade the SD360 printer with smart card and magnetic stripe encoding modules for more complex operations, such as meal purchases and attendance tracking.

The SD360 card printer can help schools meet their environmental commitments through increased energy efficiency and eco-friendly features. The SD360 printer earned the Energy Star rating and uses biodegradable ribbon supply cores and recyclable packaging.

“Schools require fast card printing, efficient operation and high print quality from their card printers, and that’s exactly what the SD360 printer delivers,” said Kathleen Phillips, head of desktop personalization systems for Datacard Group. “More and more, schools rely on ID cards for access control and checkout automation along with their need for student and visitor identification.”
