Visionhitech Chooses Pixim's Seawolf Chip to Power Its Latest Camera Offerings

Pixim Inc., a provider of imaging chips for enterprise security cameras, announced that Visionhitech Americas Inc. of Irvine, Calif. has introduced new cameras integrating Seawolf, Pixim's latest chip technology. Visionhitech has developed a Seawolf-powered outdoor vandal dome (VD70D88) that is 3-inches in diameter as well as a dual-voltage, true day/night box camera (VC58D88).

Through Seawolf, Visionhitech's new cameras offer 690 HTVL effective resolution and wide dynamic range. In addition, Seawolf-based cameras require 0.1 lux of illumination to produce usable, color images at a full 30 fps.

"Our Seawolf-powered cameras give end users the flexibility they need in their applications while reducing costs. For instance, the small size of the VD70D88 lends itself well to elevator and bus applications. Since it's not easily damaged, it can be placed almost anywhere," said Scott Hamasaki, president of Visionhitech Americas. "The VC58D88 box camera has an IR cut filter that provides optimal color in daytime and fully realizes the low light sensitivity at night. Plus, with its dual-voltage capabilities, you can select AC power to take advantage of smaller diameter wire or DC power which enables you to easily provide backup power using a PSU/Charger with battery."

"Seawolf-powered cameras are changing the security camera market," said John Monti, Pixim's vice president of marketing and business development. "Pixim's single board camera modules based on the Seawolf chip make it easier for manufacturers to develop compact camera formats. But don't let the size of the camera fool you; all Seawolf cameras produce high quality images in any lighting condition from strong daylight to low light."
