Proximex and Vigilant Enter Into Technology Agreement

Proximex, a provider of event and information management for physical and logical security markets, has entered into an agreement with Vigilant Technology, a BATM Company and provider of end-to-end intelligent IP video surveillance and security solutions. By leveraging Proximex Surveillint’s open architecture, the companies have integrated Vigilant’s legacy DVR line, along with their Hybrid and NVR recording systems at several customer locations, including one organization with more than 1,000 video cameras.

The integration modules correlate video with information from other security systems, such as alarms, to create a unified front-end GUI with a video management system that more efficiently controls and handles video sources. Furthermore, the integration modules let customers leverage their current infrastructures as they methodically shift to the IP video world.

“Because of tight budgets and the increased need for security, we are committed to helping our customers get the most out of their existing Vigilant systems while preparing them for the future,” said Ohad Kleinman, director of product management for Vigilant Technology. “Surveillint’s open architecture is ideal for integrating Vigilant systems with other important security systems into a unified front-end, especially for customers with multi-site environments and those wishing to upgrade to IP systems. This agreement allows our customers to be proactive when managing their security video information.”

With the Proximex-Vigilant technology agreement, companies can now have a centralized security solution with a video management system that controls multiple video sources. In addition, the integration modules leverage Surveillint’s ability to improve incident management by correlating Vigilant video systems with alarms from other solutions, such as access control, intrusion, fire systems and even other video systems. Companies that wish to install new IP video systems but for budget reasons need to retain their analog systems will also benefit because new systems and technologies may be added as time and monies allow.

“Vigilant is guiding its customers toward future technology but in a way that respects the bottom line,” said Larry Lien, vice president of product management for Proximex. “By choosing to integrate their DVR/NVR systems with Surveillint, Vigilant customers can now move towards a holistic security environment that provides more visibility and actionable information without needing to replace every existing system.”
