IndigoVision Hosts NASA Astronaut at Edinburgh HQ

Astronaut Nicole Passonno Stott’s recent visit to IndigoVision, the Edinburgh-based IP Video Security solutions manufacturer, was a remarkable event for the company. Nicole was a crew member on the historic 39th and final mission of space shuttle Discovery in February 2011, a 13-day flight to the International Space Station (ISS). She has had a distinguished career in NASA and as an engineer in the aerospace industry. In 2009, Nicole logged 91 days in space aboard the ISS, which included a 6-hour space walk.

During Nicole’s visit to the IndigoVision HQ she was given a tour of the facilities and shown some of the company’s latest IP camera developments. She then gave a presentation to the engineering department and held a Q&A session, giving a rare opportunity for IndigoVision employees to question one of NASA’s current astronauts about her working life as a space flight engineer.

Commenting on her visit, Nicole said, “I am always delighted to meet fellow engineers and have the opportunity to talk about my experiences as an engineer working at NASA.”

Oliver Vellacott, IndigoVision CEO, said, “It was truly inspirational to have such an accomplished engineering professional visit our company and present to our own engineering team. We pride ourselves on being an innovative and technologically advanced business, so Nicole’s visit was an exciting and memorable occasion for all involved.”
