Ingersoll Rand Security Technologies Makes BOMA Commitments

Ingersoll Rand Security Technologies, a global provider of security and safety solutions and a division of Ingersoll Rand whose family of brands include Schlage and Trane, announced that it will serve as a BOMA 360 ambassador and on the BOMA building codes and voluntary standards committee. Both efforts will help Ingersoll Rand Security Technologies better service the commercial real estate market, helping users achieve their security goals.

“Ingersoll Rand Security Technology employees are encouraged to participate in their local BOMA chapters and to promote the benefits of BOMA 360 to commercial real estate customers, encouraging their participation in the program,” said April Noblitt, Ingersoll Rand Security Technologies director, commercial real estate vertical market. “With our history of helping customers throughout North America meet their local building codes, we look forward to being a valued member of the building codes and voluntary standards committee.

“For instance, Ingersoll Rand Security Technologies has Director of Codes, Standards and Building Regulations, Kurt Roeper, who writes many articles for the trade press, speaks at many conferences and can be seen on YouTube.com providing codes and standards demonstration. Our company is currently a member of multiple technical committees engaged in writing codes and standards for the openings industry, including NFPA 5000 Building Construction & Safety Code, NFPA 101 Life Safety Code, NFPA 80 Standard for Fire Doors and Other Opening Protectives, Steel Door Institute Technical Committee, International Code Council and the Committee on Storm Shelters.”

The BOMA 360 Performance Program recognizes excellence in building operations and management which requires independent review and evaluation of six major components – building operations and management, life safety/security/risk management, training and education, energy, environmental/sustainability and tenant relations/community involvement. BOMA 360 helps to differentiate one building from another by demonstrating to owners, tenants and prospective tenants that the building is managed to the highest standards of excellence.

In addition to providing guidance, education and advocacy, the committee also provides guidance to local associations working with local building code officials and plays an active role on standards writing committees.

“On the local level, Ingersoll Rand Security Technologies committee delegates will be working through BOMA and our local teams, providing advance notices and information on legislation, regulation and codes and access to market-specific information,” Noblitt said.
