Altronix Introduces Slate of Power Solutions

Altronix, manufacturer of low voltage power supplies and peripherals for the electronic security industry, is highlighting a host of power solutions for video surveillance, access control, fire/life safety and intrusion detection at ISC West 2012.

I ntroductions at the show include eBridge Ethernet Adapters for the transmission of video and data with power over long distances. eBridge provides an extremely cost-efficient solution for repurposing legacy coax infrastructure for networked system use. Also unveiled is a new PoE Midspan that leverages the latest Power-over-Ethernet protocol (LTPoE++TM) to supply higher levels of power to networked cameras and devices unique to that technology.

"Our expanded portfolio of innovative power solutions makes it easy for installers and system designers to implement highly cost-efficient, effective and reliable power solutions over legacy coax and/or IP infrastructure," said Alan Forman, President, Altronix. "Altronix maintains its focus on providing products for the latest industry trends such as delivering video, data and the required power for the latest IP cameras and devices. Seeing the need to provide efficient migration paths from analog to networked systems and devices, our product line-up includes solutions for any IP, coax or hybrid system infrastructure."

Products being featured at Altronix' ISC West booth include:

The eBridge1CT Ethernet transceiver and eBridge1CR Ethernet receiver enable fast 10/100Base-T Ethernet digital communication over coax cable. The plug-and-play eBridge1CRT receiver and transceiver kit accommodates multiple IP cameras and devices over a single coax cable or one IP camera with composite video and data simultaneously. Also on display are the new eBridge16CR 1U rack-mount Ethernet receiver with 16 channels, and the new eBridge4CR receiver with 4 channels.

The NetWay1E PoE Midspan Injector complies with IEEE 802.3af [PoE (15W)] and IEEE 802.3at [PoE+ (30W)] devices, and is also compatible with LTPoE++ − a proprietary standard that increases PoE power specifications to serve devices' higher power needs, including 70W, 52.7W and 38.7W powered devices. The NetWay1E operates on 115VAC (60Hz) and the NetWay1EV operates on 230VAC (50/60Hz).

Maximal Access Power Controllers provide seamless power for readers and accessories plus independent control and power of door hardware for large-scale access control systems. A range of models offer flexible power options and features for virtually any application. The power controllers are also easily customizable in the field by adding UL listed sub-assemblies. Fire alarm control panel interface is selectable by output.

WayPoint Outdoor Power Supplies are a complete outdoor power solution to operate single or multiple cameras or devices. Various models offer both 24VAC and 28VAC simultaneously, or 12VDC or 24VDC with features that include 115VAC/230VAC or 277VAC input and LED power status indicators. To ensure reliability in outdoor or harsh internal environments, all WayPoint models feature a lightweight IP66/NEMA4/4X rated outdoor enclosure with lockable stainless latches. Integral flanges provide easier handling and mounting.

The UL listed ReServ Uninterruptible Power Supplies combine an Altronix power supply and UPS into a single solution to ensure power for your cameras and security devices during normal, brown-out and power outage conditions. The power supplies are designed to provide true sine-wave regulated 24VAC or regulated 12VDC for camera power – or both simultaneously. The units are available in indoor models and outdoor models housed in NEMA4/IP66-rated enclosures.

The RE2 Rack Mount Battery Enclosure is designed to neatly house back-up batteries for rack-mounted power supplies. The RE2 is designed in a 2U rack mount chassis for use in standard EIA 19-inch racks. The unit accommodates up to four (4) 12VDC/17AH batteries and features quick-release terminal blocks for easy installation.

  • Gaining a Competitive Edge

Ask most companies about their future technology plans and the answers will most likely include AI. Then ask how they plan to deploy it, and that is where the responses may start to vary. Every company has unique surveillance requirements that are based on market focus, scale, scope, risk tolerance, geographic area and, of course, budget. Those factors all play a role in deciding how to configure a surveillance system, and how to effectively implement technologies like AI. Read Now

    A8V MIND

Hexagon’s Geosystems presents a portable version of its Accur8vision detection system. A rugged all-in-one solution, the A8V MIND (Mobile Intrusion Detection) is designed to provide flexible protection of critical outdoor infrastructure and objects. Hexagon’s Accur8vision is a volumetric detection system that employs LiDAR technology to safeguard entire areas. Whenever it detects movement in a specified zone, it automatically differentiates a threat from a nonthreat, and immediately notifies security staff if necessary. Person detection is carried out within a radius of 80 meters from this device. Connected remotely via a portable computer device, it enables remote surveillance and does not depend on security staff patrolling the area. 3
