Senstar Sells More Than 200 Km of Perimeter Intrusion Detection Systems

Senstar Corporation has sold more than 200 Km of perimeter intrusion detection systems (PIDS) protecting solar power generation facilities in Germany.

“The most popular product for solar facilities protection to date has been Senstar’s FlexPS fence mounted sensor,” said Peter Goering, managingdDirector of Senstar GmbH. “FlexPS has proven its reliability and robustness in operation as well as ease of installation.”

Unlike large scale power plants, which require multi-layer security systems to protect against threats such as terrorism, smaller and more eco-friendly facilities often use more affordable PIDS solutions in order to protect against common threats of theft and vandalism.

After Germany’s decision to increase its renewable energy resources the installation of photo voltaic (PV) plants increased rapidly. In 2011 alone, a capacity of 25,000 megawatts was installed; and in May 2012 the generated power of the PV plants across the country, all together, matched the power of approximately 20 nuclear power stations (Reuters, Berlin, 05/26/2012).

Snap One has announced its popular Luma x20 family of surveillance products now offers even greater security and privacy for home and business owners across the globe by giving them full control over integrators’ system access to view live and recorded video. According to Snap One Product Manager Derek Webb, the new “customer handoff” feature provides enhanced user control after initial installation, allowing the owners to have total privacy while also making it easy to reinstate integrator access when maintenance or assistance is required. This new feature is now available to all Luma x20 users globally. “The Luma x20 family of surveillance solutions provides excellent image and audio capture, and with the new customer handoff feature, it now offers absolute privacy for camera feeds and recordings,” Webb said. “With notifications and integrator access controlled through the powerful OvrC remote system management platform, it’s easy for integrators to give their clients full control of their footage and then to get temporary access from the client for any troubleshooting needs.”
