Salient Systems, Dell OEM Solutions Showcase Cloud-Based VsaaS Service at ASIS

Salient Systems Corporation today announced CompleteView Cloud, a hosted video surveillance service powered by Dell OEM Solutions. Salient Systems utilizes Dell Cloud with VMware vCloud Datacenter Service at the platform level to host customer video and provide a simple interface where users can easily access the complete solution. CompleteView Cloud provides a secure cloud-based solution that simplifies the deployment and integration of video surveillance, delivers a flexible solution for growth and expansion and meets the needs for companies to control costs without jeopardizing quality.

Using Video Surveillance-as-a-Service (VSaaS) technology, Salient Systems has integrated Axis Communications’ One-Click Camera Connection to stream video from Internet Protocol (IP) cameras and encoders over the Internet to the Dell Cloud that provides a seamless multi-tenant environment for running virtual systems. The accessibility and flexibility of cloud-based services offers video recording availability anywhere, anytime on desktop, notebook and mobile smartphone devices.

“We are proud to work with a global solution provider like Dell to create a viable, real-time surveillance solution hosted in a reliable cloud environment” said Bob Wilbur, CEO of Salient Systems. “Consolidating surveillance video from multiple locations to a centrally hosted data center opens up a vast new market for service providers and benefits users by decreasing capital expenditures for equipment and installation costs.”

As part of the Axis Development Partner (ADP) Program, Salient integrated Axis Communications’ One-Click Camera Connection solution with its CompleteView Video Management System to ensure the highest degree of video surveillance system integration and deliver seamless cloud connectivity regardless of Internet service provider, routers or firewall settings. Connection to the service provider equipment is handled without the need for a hardware gateway or VPN for faster, easier installation of IP cameras.

“Dell’s expertise in cloud computing services provides the foundation and infrastructure to companies like Salient Systems as they design, build and deploy highly efficient cloud solutions in expanding vertical markets said Nnamdi Orakwue, vice president, Infrastructure Cloud Services. “We are meeting an ever increasing demand for cloud technologies, including IT virtualization, public and private cloud deployments, turn-key solutions and evolving requirements for data, workflow and applications support.”

The CompleteView Video Management System will debut at ASIS 2012, in Philadelphia, September 10-13. Salient will be demonstrating the Dell vCloud-based solution, in booth No. 2745.
