Where's the Beef?

I like Philadelphia. It seems like a nice place to host a tradeshow. The convention center, its location and the city in general were a great host for ASIS 2012.
Problem is: ASIS didn’t produce the numbers of visitors expected. I don’t have the official numbers of attendees and I’m only guessing from the way the tradeshow hall looked during each day of the exposition.
The final day of the show: the numbers of conference attendees was light at the booths and in the aisles.
That’s not to say the security industry is taking a holiday. Far from it. Those in attendance were people in the know and truly wanted an education and briefing about security and the newest products on the market.
Sure, the numbers seemed to be low, but what I found wandering around the ASIS tradeshow floor, is that exhibitors were not completely unhappy with attendance because the quality of attendee. I thought exhibitors put on a full court press with knowledge and product display.
ASIS moves to Chicago in 2013. I assure you, security is not on holiday. I believe we’ll more security news, products and technology in the coming months. A special thanks to our e-newsletter sponsors who make this media available to all our online readers.
