A New Experience

Each year I try something new in the security world. I’ve been to IFSEC in England, and learned the similarities and differences of security between the U.K. and the United States. I’ve been to Mexico City, where some U.S. security associates regaled me with a story of how a group of thugs burst into a hotel and took some hostages at gun point, and I’ve also enjoyed CETRA in Taipei several years ago.

This year, I’m going to experience ESSEN Security in Germany.

There are a handful of U.S. companies that participate in ESSEN, and I’m looking forward to what is arguably the biggest security tradeshow in the world. ESSEN is held every other year, and truly focuses not only on European security, but its reaches into Western Europe and beyond.

Security ESSEN is in its 20th year, and also offers experience in security and fire prevention technology. It is considered a world fair because it does dominate the market as an innovation engine, a meeting place for security experts, and a fair amount of business deals take place during the tradeshow.

We all know the security market of the future offers tremendous growth potential, and modern technologies, products and services are in demand like never before.

I look forward to sharing with you, our readers, about my experiences in a daily update during ESSEN 2012. Four more electronic newsletters will be brought to you by our sponsors listed on the title page of this issue. I encourage you to review them, their products and their services. They are responsible for making the newsletters happen.

More than 100 countries will be exhibiting at ESSEN, with more than 1,100 exhibitors at this giant marketplace. I expect to have my finger on the pulse of security for the next week like never before as global security relationships are developed, and where security ideas are tailor-made for all of us in the industry.
