Minuteman Debuts Four New Remote Power Management Solutions

Remotely monitor, control and reboot up to 16 connected devices from anywhere in the world

Para Systems, Inc. has announced the latest addition to its line of Remote Power Management products. The Minuteman RPM Series 8 & 16-Port Remote Power Managers allow users to remotely manage power for connected devices such as servers, switches, routers, modems, security devices, and telephone systems. Locked-up devices can be re-set from a desktop PC, laptop, smart phone or tablet.

Minuteman’s RPM products are the ideal solutions for network administrators who manage one or more remote locations. From an easy-to-use web-based interface, the user can easily control power to attached devices from virtually anywhere using any standard web browser and a password, reducing downtime and providing fast resolution to equipment lock-ups. With a simple click, users can perform a power up, power down, or reboot for devices connected to the RPM. Users can also receive notification of locked devices and even set up automatic reboots using automatic ping actions.

“As we all know, locked-up systems are a fact of life and whenever a device fails, the only method for restoring the device is to cycle power or reboot,” stated Bill Allen, director of marketing for Para Systems.“With the cost of an average trip to fix a failed device in a remote facility currently estimated at $350 an hour, the RPM can quickly pay for itself when attached devices need to be rebooted and you don’t have to send a technician to a remote location to merely cycle power off and then on.

”Minuteman's newest additions to the RPM family of products offer a host of helpful features, including scheduled tasks, individual or grouped outlet control, horizontal or vertical rack mounting, and are available for both 120 and 208-volt applications.

The 8-port RPMs are 1U horizontal or 0U vertical mount that include an LCD display featuring a true RMS meter that displays current device load and are available in both 120V (RPM1581HVN) and 208V(RPM2082HVI) versions. The 16-port 0U vertical mount models also feature an LCD true RMS loadmeter, and are available in 120V (RPM20161VN) and 208V (RPM20162VI) versions. Minuteman’s RPMproduct line also features the RPM1521, a 120V 2-port version.

“The Minuteman RPM is the most efficient, effective and convenient product available to manage power for critical systems. By utilizing Minuteman's remote power management products, technicians and administrators are able to save time, increase productivity and cut costs,” stated Mr. Allen.

All models are currently available for shipment and can be used in conjunction with Minuteman’s line of uninterruptible power supplies which provide complete protection from all power problems. All Minuteman RPMs and UPSs are covered under a comprehensive three-year warranty. Minuteman products are sold through distributors, VARs, and on-line resellers.
