Power Home Technologies Steps Up for Break-In Victim

After seeing a victim of a break-in on the news, a Power Home Technologies representative reached out to offer an alarm system and service.

When a Virginia Beach, Va., widow told a local TV station she had been sleeping with a hatchet under her pillow since a burglar had stolen her gun in late November, security dealer Power Home Technologies (PHT) provided her with an alarm system and peace of mind.

Dave Kershaw, a Power Home Technologies representative, saw the woman’s story on WKTR-TV and made a visit to her home. In addition to the alarm system, which included an arm/disarm remote control, Kershaw offered to make regular phone calls to assist her with her new panel.

“We were moved by her story and wanted to help,” said Ben Brookhart, Power Home Technologies CEO. “No one should feel unsafe in their own home. PHT is committed to giving homeowners peace of mind with a personal touch to our service.”

A member of the Monitronics Dealer Program since 2011, Power Home Technologies reached its 50,000th customer in August. The Raleigh, N.C., based company now offers service in more than a dozen states.

Founded in 2004, Power Home Technologies has installed security systems in more than 50,000 homes in the U.S. It has quickly become one of the fastest-growing security dealers in the country. The company was recognized on Inc. Magazine’s 500 Fastest Growing Privately Held Companies and Hire Power lists. In 2010, SDM Magazine recognized the company as one of the top 100 security companies.
