Former NYPD Deputy Commissioner of Operations to Receive Award from ASIS

The ASIS New York City Chapter has selected Patrick Timlin, CEO of MSA Security, as the 2013 Person of the Year. Timlin will be honored at the popular NYC Chapter Awards Luncheon on Thursday, May 9, during the 23rd NYC Security Conference & Expo at the Jacob K. Javits Center.

Timlin returned to MSA Security in 2012, after a two-year leave of absence taken after accepting an appointment from Police Commissioner Raymond W. Kelly to serve as Deputy Commissioner of Operations of the New York City Police Department (NYPD). He was highly-successful in that position, creating and/or implementing various, successful initiatives, crime reduction strategies, administrative processes, and operational efficiencies. Most of his career has been in public service, having served with the NYPD for 22 years (1980-2002) in the Bronx and Queens. Prior to joining MSA in January 2005, Timlin was an attorney at a prominent SEC-registered investment firm, where he oversaw the anti-money laundering and business continuity programs.

“Pat has demonstrated his love for public service. From working up to the uniformed rank of Assistant Chief and Boro Commander to serving in a key position at NSA, and then returning to the Department and to serve as Deputy Commissioner, Operations,” noted George Anderson, chair, ASIS New York City chapter. “He has now taken the skills and abilities he honed in the NYPD and applied them to his private sector role with great success. It is an honor to recognize his commitment to service and his career achievements.”

The NYC Security Conference & Expo, hosted annually by the ASIS New York City Chapter, draws an audience of more than 2,500 security management and law enforcement professionals from the Northeast, as well as from across the United States. The event combines education and networking opportunities, and provides direct access to suppliers of innovative security products and services. This year welcomes the co-location of two IT-centric conferences and exhibitions— the Computer Forensics Show and CyBit. The co-located conferences are set for Wednesday, May 8-Thursday, May 9, 2013 at the Jacob K. Javits Center in New York, NY. All conference sessions and exhibits will be open to registrants of each event. ASIS board-certified attendees can earn credits toward recertification by attending the conference sessions and expo.

Registration for the ASIS New York City Security Conference and Expo (ASIS NYC) is open. Tickets to attend the luncheon are included with full conference registration. Tickets also may be purchased separately for $75 each. Tables of 10 can be reserved.
