Robust Surveillance Failover Critical to Asia Gaming Growth

Whether guarding against fraud, cheat scams and theft, or avoiding hefty regulatory fines caused by video loss, high-quality video recording and robust surveillance failover is critical to the Asia-Pacific gaming industry.

Robust Surveillance Failover Critical to Asia Gaming GrowthThis is the message that Synectics - whose integrated surveillance solutions already monitor and control over 60,000 cameras across 75 casinos worldwide - is delivering at G2E Asia 2013.

By 2015, Asia-Pacific casinos are predicted to be generating revenues over $79 billion. But, with such growth comes greater need for control, particularly in terms of security.

Detecting fraud and ensuring regulatory compliance is a cost-saving necessity that demands highly-reliable, ‘around-the-clock’ video and data capture. For Synectics, the answer is single-point-control integrated surveillance with multiple levels of failover.

This enterprise-class proposition is backed by experience. Synectics entered the Asia-Pacific gaming market less than a year ago and has already secured significant business, implementing integrated solutions in major land and cruise ship-based casinos.

Working in collaboration with Empire Automation, and with a dedicated Singapore office offering ‘on-the-ground’ support, Synectics has the technology pedigree and sector experience to deliver solutions uniquely tailored for the Asia-Pacific gaming market.

John Katnic, vice president of global gaming at Synectics, explained, “It’s not just revenues that are bigger in Asia – the region’s gaming facilities are unrivalled in terms of their scale and complexity. That level of complexity demands simplicity when it comes to surveillance control.”

“Capturing, sorting, and making sense of surveillance data – and connecting it to third party alarm and operational systems such as POS, access control and specific game/table tracking solutions – all without loss or interruption – is just one part of the equation. Ensuring that all this can be monitored and controlled quickly and easily from one location is the other,” continued Katnic.“Our ability to deliver such a package, and our strong partnership with Empire, is why we’ve already secured major contract wins in the region and why we are ideally placed for further expansion.”

Visitors to the Synectics stand at G2E Asia (booth 98 near the Security and Surveillance Theater) will be able to see the benefits offered by its surveillance integration solutions first hand.

As well as demonstrating how its intuitive Synergy™ video integration and management platform enables video, alarms and data to be viewed, managed and recorded in one place, Synectics will also be showcasing its new line of HD IP cameras and its failover solutions,  including ‘backfilling’ capabilities that allow encoders and IP cameras to record to independent drives in the event of network failure, ensuring no data loss.

Mark White, general manager at Empire Automation, believes Synectics’ twenty-five year heritage in delivering integrated surveillance solutions and unique North American gaming market experience has a lot to offer the Asia-Pacific market.

He said, “Synectics’ Synergy platform gives gaming professionals the ability to streamline and simplify operations by viewing, controlling and managing multiple systems at one source. Add to that extensive failover solutions that ensure system continuity and it’s clear to see why Synectics has already been embraced by the region.”

“It’s progressive technology like this that helps make a real difference - not just to security, but ultimately to bottom-line performance - and to be involved in bringing those capabilities to market in partnership with Synectics is very exciting,” concluded White.
