New Samsung 1.3 Megapixel PTZ Camera Features 30x Optical Zoom

New Samsung 1.3 Megapixel PTZ Camera Features 30x Optical ZoomWith its high-quality, megapixel resolution and pixilation-free 30x optical zoom capability, Samsung’s new SNP-5300H 1.3 Megapixel IP PTZ dome camera captures extremely accurate images at a great price point. The SNP-5300H builds upon Samsung’s reputation for delivering high performance video surveillance solutions with added value.

“The combination of 1.3 megapixel resolution and 30x optical zoom has been a widely sought after solution, but expensive for mainstream applications,” said Frank De Fina, senior vice president of sales and marketing, Samsung Techwin America.  “Our new 1.3 Megapixel with a 30x optical lens fulfills the market’s demand for high performance and quality at a very competitive price point.”

Another key feature incorporated into the SNP-5300 is PoE (Power over Ethernet) to power all of the dome’s features as well as its built-in heater and fan that enables operation in extreme temperature ranges. (This built-in heater is only relevant for the SNP-5300H.) The new SNP-5300H also features an IP66 rated external housing for challenging outdoor/indoor environments.

With a true day/night capability and wide dynamic range (WDR) technology that makes it ideal for locations with high contrast lighting conditions, Samsung’s SNP-5300H is highly effective for video surveillance applications such as airports, ports and other transport facilities, as well as retail and corporate/industrial campuses.

New Samsung 1.3 Megapixel PTZ Camera Features 30x Optical ZoomUtilizing H.264 and MJPEG compression, the SNP-5300H provides the option to simultaneously transmit images to multiple locations at various frame rates and at different resolutions. Up to 10 different users can monitor live images simultaneously on a PC, smartphone or tablet via Samsung’s license-free NET-i viewer software. JPEG images can be simultaneously attached to alarm email notifications. An internal SD memory card also provides the capability to store pre and post-alarm images.

A multi-language, on-screen display makes it easy for users to configure the SNP-5300/5300H’s extensive list of features. These include four programmable motion detection zones, 12 programmable privacy zones, bi-directional audio support and progressive scan technology that negates motion blur and ensures sharp edges on moving subjects and vehicles.

The built-in, license-free Intelligent Video Analytics (IVA) includes virtual line and enter/exit direction detection, as well as an appear/disappear function to detect the movement of objects. It also includes face detection and audio detection, and even has a scene change tampering function which creates an alert if, for example, paint is sprayed on a camera lens or there is unauthorized movement of a camera away from its usual field of view.

The SNP-5300/5300H is available with an extensive range of accessories and brackets to provide a choice of wall, pole, parapet, pendant, corner and ceiling mounts.

  • The Future is Happening Outside the Cloud

For years, the cloud has captivated the physical security industry. And for good reason. Remote access, elastic scalability and simplified maintenance reshaped how we think about deploying and managing systems. But as the number of cameras grows and resolutions push from HD to 4K and beyond, the cloud’s limits are becoming unavoidable. Bandwidth bottlenecks. Latency lags. Rising storage costs. These are not abstract concerns. Read Now

In situations where AI supports important security tasks like leading investigations and detecting threats and anomalies, transparency is essential. When an incident occurs, investigators must trace the logic behind each automated response to confirm its validity or spot errors. • Seeking Innovative Solutions

Denial, Anger, Bargaining, Depression and Acceptance. You may recognize these terms as the “5 Phases” of a grieving process, but they could easily describe the phases one goes through before adopting any new or emerging innovation or technology, especially in a highly risk-averse industry like security. However, the desire for convenience in all aspects of modern life is finally beginning to turn the tide from old school hardware as the go-to towards more user-friendly, yet still secure, door solutions.
