Arecont Vision Ultra Low Profile MicroDome Cameras Now Shipping

Arecont Vision Ultra Low Profile MicroDome Cameras Now ShippingArecont Vision, a solution provider of IP megapixel camera technology, is now shipping its new small form factor product line, MicroDome. The ultra-low profile, multi-megapixel cameras are designed for applications where both high-resolution and a small footprint are required.

Arecont Vision MicroDome cameras are available in resolutions of 1.3-Megapixels, 1080p, 3MP and 5MP, with wide dynamic range (WDR) up to 100dB at full resolution available at resolutions of 1080p and 3 MP. Indoor models with an innovative in-ceiling mount are being released first, and will soon be followed by indoor/outdoor surface mount models. The in-ceiling configurations have three spring arms at the top of the camera that easily fit through the small installation hole and then expand and lock to secure the camera into place. The installer only needs to slide the camera through the hole and secure the magnetized mounting ring with a single screw.

“For more than 10 years, Arecont Vision has led the industry in product innovation by responding to customer needs. With MicroDome, installers have a high-quality camera that is easy to install, while end user customers receive the benefits of high-resolution imaging in a very small form factor,” said Arecont Vision Product Manager, Brad Donaldson. “No other product of this size exists in the market today that has features like 5-Megapixel resolution, true wide dynamic range on 1080p and 3 megapixel models, true day/night functionality and an integrated microphone. The MicroDome is truly the first of its kind.”

Arecont Vision megapixel technology delivers superior image quality and reduces overall system costs by covering larger areas with fewer cameras. Standard features include a dual H.264 (MPEG-4 Part 10) and JPEG encoder, fast frame rates, on-camera privacy masking and 1024-zone motion detection.

The company’s WDR technology delivers a dynamic range of up to 100dB at full resolution without lowering frame rates. By combining long and short exposures in the same field-of-view, WDR maximizes the amount of detail in both bright and dark areas of a scene.
