Lincoln Memorial Vandalized with Green Paint

Alerted just before 1:30 am, police arrived at the Lincoln Memorial to find green paint splattered across the leg and base of the 19-foot statue in Washington.

According to police, no words or symbols were painted or written on the memorial, and no other damage was found. However, early morning joggers, who usually run up and down the memorial’s stairs, were met with bright yellow police tape.

“To me it’s defacing America. It’s not just defacing the Lincoln Memorial, but it’s something against all of America,” said early morning jogger Scott Arndt, who I agree with 100 percent, might I add.

Other officers are snapping pictures of the vandalism while police dogs are sniffing around, trying to detect the scent of the wrong-doer(s).

A special historic preservation team, complete with power washers, has also started cleaning up the mess.

  • The Future is Happening Outside the Cloud

For years, the cloud has captivated the physical security industry. And for good reason. Remote access, elastic scalability and simplified maintenance reshaped how we think about deploying and managing systems. But as the number of cameras grows and resolutions push from HD to 4K and beyond, the cloud’s limits are becoming unavoidable. Bandwidth bottlenecks. Latency lags. Rising storage costs. These are not abstract concerns. Read Now
