Samsung Expands Megapixel Lineup with New 3MP WiseNet III Cameras

Samsung Techwin is showcasing its latest video surveillance cameras featuring WiseNet III DSP chipset technology here at ISC West (booth #14079). The latest addition to the WiseNet III portfolio includes the new 7000 Series of 3MP cameras that deliver 1080p resolution with extreme bandwidth efficiency in a variety of configurations.

"Samsung continues to deliver megapixel imaging solutions that deliver the ideal combination of superior performance and value to supplement our comprehensive system solutions portfolio," said Frank De Fina, Samsung's Executive Vice President, North America. "Our new WiseNet III 3 megapixel cameras deliver greater image quality and coverage capabilities for a wide range of environments and applications."

Samsung's new 7000 Series of WiseNet III 3MP cameras includes the SND-7084 and SND- 7084R Indoor Domes, the SNV-7084 and SNV-7084R Outdoor Domes, the SNO-7084R Bullet Camera, and the SNB-7084 Box Camera.

Samsung's new 7000 Series of WiseNet III 3MP cameras capture multiple resolutions from CIF (320 x 240) to 16:9 format 1080p full HD and up to 3 megapixel (2048 x 1536). The cameras provide up to 10 video streams and offer both H.264 & MJPEG compression to ensure optimized bandwidth utilization and to conserve valuable recording space. The 7000 Series cameras provide an exceptional wide dynamic range of 120dB which provides outstanding image clarity in scenes with bright and dark areas within the same field of view. They are also ideal for use in low light with a minimum illumination of only 0.01 lux. The cameras' P-Iris technology further enhances clarity and depth of field in diverse lighting conditions, generating images with better contrast, clarity and resolution. An ultra-fast frame rate of 60 fps and Samsung's Motion Reduction technology enables image capture of fast moving action without blurring or loss of edge detail.

Additional WiseNet III camera features include defog capability for improved images in inclement weather; digital image stabilization (DIS) which can negate the effects of camera shaking due to high winds or building vibration, as well as reducing rolling shutter effects; automatic day/night function; and the Simple Focus feature that enables precise focusing with the push of a button. Focus can also be adjusted remotely via the network.

For ease of monitoring, the cameras can be accessed using popular browsers such as Google Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Internet Explorer. The cameras also support bi- directional audio, simultaneous multi-streams and bandwidth optimization through H.264 and MJPEG codecs.
