Another Successful ISC West Is In The Books

This year’s version of ISC West is in the books. By all accounts, it was a huge success.

Perhaps one of the highlights for me was interviewing Gert van Iperen, president of Bosch Security Systems, and Peter Ribinski, executive vice president of Bosch Security Systems.

From my notes of the interview, I have a few key sound bites from both men about their business model and plans to grow the business.

“We put a lot of effort into helping the customer,” van Iperen said. “Today’s cameras can cover a much broader area.”

Bosch Security Systems is in the top tier of security manufacturers, and helping the customer achieve their goals in security carries a lot of meaning. van Iperen is determined to ensure that the customer gets what they need, and once installed, that the equipment performs as advertised.

Now, with the introduction of the 4K camera, Bosch intended to be among the market leaders in presenting its solution.

“The 4K camera is an important step in the evolution of security systems,” Ribinski said. “We understand all the elements of coding and decoding of the picture, and we’re pleased to be able to bring this innovation to the security market.”

A few years ago, talk at tradeshows was all about convergence. Do you remember that well-worn term? Well, convergence happened and now the notion is that with IP video surveillance available, manufacturers want to be able to provide installers with a product that takes only a couple of minutes to install.

“We want to drive that trend,” Ribinski said. “These are people who are quality technicians, and who deserve the best products available.”
