Security Products magazine, the only integrated product and technology magazine reaching the entire security market, announced the 2014 winners in The Govies Government Security Awards competition today. The awards honor outstanding government security products in a variety of categories.
The Security Products’ Government Security Awards were launched in 2009 and re-launched as The Govies in 2011. Participation in the program continues to be strong, with added visibility to winners being offered this year. The winning entries earn the opportunity to display their products in The Govies booth at the annual GovSec Conference & Expo, which will be held May 13-14 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C. This year, Platinum and Gold designations within award categories will be announced on the show floor May 13.

“Over the past few years we have encouraged manufacturers to enter The Govies so we can highlight products that secure government entities and staff,” said Ralph C. Jensen, editor-in-chief of Security Products magazine. “We are very grateful to all entrants who take the time to share with us and our readers the latest security technologies. The products that have won recognition this year represent only a portion of what is available to the government. The security industry is a remarkable technological breeding ground where the brightest and most talented engineers seek new ways to secure national treasures and interests.”
In addition to being honored at GovSec, the winners will be featured on the security industry’s leading website, security-today.com, and highlighted in a future issue of Security Products magazine. This magazine is distributed to more than 65,000* subscribers monthly as well as at trade events, including GovSec.
