DRS Technologies' WatchMaster Thermal Camera Portfolio Now Available On Leading Building Design Software System

DRS Technologies Inc., a Finmeccanica Company, announced recently that its WatchMaster® thermal camera specifications will be available to building designers using Autodesk® Seek, a leading Building Information Modeling (BIM) web application accessible to Autodesk Revit users. The addition of WatchMaster thermal camera systems into the AutoDesk application extends and strengthens DRS Technologies' collaboration with architects, engineers and security consultants in the surveillance and facilities industries.

AutoDesk Seek allows users to access 3D models and critical camera parameters, ensuring accurate design and visualization of WatchMaster camera performance in a variety of security applications from an early stage in project development. With access to the WatchMaster thermal camera families, users can evaluate key specifications, including the spread of the camera's field of view, range and depth of target detection, as well as mounting height and rotation specifications. WatchMaster thermal camera families let security system designers insert camera models directly into CAD building plans and visualize the areas the cameras will cover. The CAD models allow for flexible configurations to ensure proper layout and reduce unexpected blind spots. "Making WatchMaster cameras available on Autodesk Seek provides architects, engineers and security consultants with the information they need to effectively specify our advanced thermal imaging products and is a direct example of our commitment to provide tools to complete projects on-time and under budget," said Todd Brown, DRS senior director of worldwide sales and marketing for commercial infrared systems.

WatchMaster cameras deliver a competitive edge by providing 24/7/365 affordable thermal camera solutions, with both IP and Analog connectivity and a variety of lens options for easy integration into existing surveillance and security infrastructure. The WatchMaster product portfolio enhances the reliability of detection while delivering energy efficient solutions.
