Bitcoin Makes a Come Back to Apple App Store

Apple’s approach to virtual currencies and bitcoin-trading apps has been conservative, to say the least, as they had, up until now, not allowed them in their App Store. However, maybe it was in honor of Father’s Day or maybe it’s because the demand is high, whatever the reason, Apple has lifted their restriction on bitcoin-trading apps. Bitcoin Makes a Come Back to Apple App StoreCoin Pocket appeared in the App Store yesterday, shortly after Apple stated its new rule for virtual-currency apps: They must comply with state and federal laws in all areas where they operate. (Seems reasonable.)

Even the US government has weighed in on bitcoin-type apps, indicating that virtual currencies are generally unregulated for individual users, so allowing these apps on iOS devices shouldn’t create any major legal concerns for Apple.

So, as bitcoin-type apps continue to flood into the Apple App Store and are “generally unregulated,” my thoughts turn to security and how safe virtual currencies actually are.

Snap One has announced its popular Luma x20 family of surveillance products now offers even greater security and privacy for home and business owners across the globe by giving them full control over integrators’ system access to view live and recorded video. According to Snap One Product Manager Derek Webb, the new “customer handoff” feature provides enhanced user control after initial installation, allowing the owners to have total privacy while also making it easy to reinstate integrator access when maintenance or assistance is required. This new feature is now available to all Luma x20 users globally. “The Luma x20 family of surveillance solutions provides excellent image and audio capture, and with the new customer handoff feature, it now offers absolute privacy for camera feeds and recordings,” Webb said. “With notifications and integrator access controlled through the powerful OvrC remote system management platform, it’s easy for integrators to give their clients full control of their footage and then to get temporary access from the client for any troubleshooting needs.”
