GovSec 2014 Attendance Grows 20 Percent

GovSec – the Government Security Conference and Expo, which featured TREXPO, the Law Enforcement Expo, and was held in conjunction with CPM East – saw its conference grow by 20 percent and total attendance reach more than 3,600 in 2014. GovSec took place May 12-14, 2014, at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C.

"GovSec 2014 again proved it is the event to learn about the latest trends, discover new strategies and tactics and hear from the thought leaders in government security and law enforcement," said Don Berey, event director for GovSec. "In addition to the growth in attendance and our conference program, we saw an 11 percent increase in exhibitors, attracting several new companies offering an array of new products and services. We are already working to continue to expand the educational and networking opportunities that are available only at GovSec."

GovSec hosted keynotes and special presentations by former National Security Advisor Thomas Donilon; leaders of local, state and federal law enforcement agencies involved in catching the Boston Marathon bombing suspects; and Avi Dichter, former Director of the Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet). The conference featured tracks on the topics of counter- and anti-terrorism, critical infrastructure and secured cities, cybercrime and cyber terrorism, campus security and life safety, and law enforcement strategies and tactics. And the free GovSec Expo brought together 194 exhibitors offering new, cutting-edge products and services for government security and cybersecurity professionals, first responders and law enforcement, as well as a series of tactical and live demos. "When all departments and directorates from the Department of Homeland Security attend your event, you know you have the right exhibitors and the right content," said Kevin O'Grady, president of the Security, Safety, and Health Group of 1105 Media.

GovSec 2015 will begin Tuesday, March 31 with workshops, followed by the Conference & Expo scheduled on Wednesday, April 1 and Thursday, April 2, at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C. To get updates on next year's event, visit GovSecInfo.com
