IFSEC 2014 Opens its Doors to the Security and Fire Industry

IFSEC 2014 Opens its Doors to the Security and Fire IndustryFor more than 40 years, IFSEC International has been connecting the entire buying chain – end users, installers and integrators, consultants and specifiers, manufacturers and distributors – under one roof. Offering face-to-face opportunities to keep up-to-date with technologies from around the globe, educational opportunities that give CPD and CPE points as well as over 650 booths showcasing their latest technologies and networking events, IFSEC opened its doors this morning to the security and fire industry.

“We are delighted to have opened the doors to the security and fire industry for 2014,” said Gerry Dunphy, event director, IFSEC International. “These annual events form a destination to congregate and discuss industry developments, network and try out the latest products to market.”

Here’s a quick tour of IFSEC:

IFSEC Academy. With over 10 education theaters and 240 seminar sessions, show attendees will have almost limitless choices to learn what’s hot within the industry from leading experts including:

  • James Cleverly, Chairman of the London Fire and Emergency Planning Authority and Chairman of the London Local Resilience Forum;
  • Tom Wingate, Public Order Engagement Lead, Metropolitan Police Service;
  • Peter Wilson, Office of Security and Counter-Terrorism, Home Office; and
  • Many more.

This academy offers access to free education in the form of lectures, white papers, seminars and keynotes to fit specific learning styles, covering topics such as counter terror, integrated security, IP security, intelligent buildings, access control and biometrics, video surveillance and physical security.

This unique experience matches attendees with suppliers that fit their specific business and project needs, providing the best solutions, products and providers, right at their disposal. Literally, this service will plan and research meetings as well as provide a dedicated area for the meetings to be held.

Security and Fire Installer Live. As an area dedicated to installers, integrators and engineers, experts guide attendees on procedures and products specific to their projects. Attendees discover best practices from experts, learn from their expertise and leave with tools to make informed decisions about the security of their own businesses.

IFSEC 2014 Opens its Doors to the Security and Fire IndustrySupplier booths. The newest technologies that are available on the market are displayed by manufacturers enabling attendees to interact and learn about various solutions to their pressing security needs. (Plus, if it’s anything like ISC West or ASIS, there are some awesome giveaways!)

Although I did not get the opportunity to attend IFSEC this year, I have been keeping up with all the fun via Twitter. In fact, splashed throughout this article are IFSEC Twitpics floating around in social media land, including a bus, a putting green, a mansion and scooter racing ----->
