XTec Announces 10 Year Homeland Security Enterprise Identity Management Contract

XTec Incorporated announced that it was awarded a 10-year contract, up to $102.8 million in value, by the Department of Homeland Security. The award confirms XTec’s position as a provider of solutions that meet Homeland Security Presidential Directive-12 and reflect the Federal Identity, Credential, and Access Management roadmap.

With XTec’s Enterprise AuthentX 5 Suite, all DHS Components can implement strong identity and access management controls, promoting secure access to DHS applications and resources furthering enterprise FICAM implementation. The first phase of the project, which begins immediately, will allow for continuous issuance and maintenance of PIV credentials used nationwide for physical and logical access control. Future phases will expand the use of credentials to enhance authentication and interoperability for other DHS applications.

“AuthentX 5 represents our next-generation security authentication technology, designed specifically for enterprise use” said XTec President and CEO Albert Fernandez. “Putting this newest iteration of our solution to work for DHS’ 10-year vision of HSPD-12 and FICAM marks a significant step forward.”

With its partner Deloitte, XTec will begin another chapter serving DHS and its nearly 250,000 cardholders.

“Since 2008, we have partnered with DHS to build a successful card issuance and identity authentication program,” added XTec Executive Vice President Kevin Kozlowski. “This next step brings XTec’s true capabilities to the forefront, maximizing practical card use that maintains security.”
