Smartvue Powers Western Digital Video Surveillance Solutions

Smartvue Corporation has announced that it will provide video surveillance solutions for Western Digital (WD). The solutions will expand the capabilities of the My Cloud EX2 and My Cloud EX4 NAS devices and allow them to also work as business grade video surveillance systems with cloud enabled features. WD customers will be able to connect video surveillance cameras to each NAS device.

“WD is expanding its services by providing its small business customers with a sophisticated business surveillance solution,” said Jim Gregg, director of product marketing, WD. “Smartvue enables us to deliver a powerful video surveillance experience that helps our customers manage and protect their businesses.”

This service will allow WD customers to leverage their NAS devices for surveillance storage and login remotely through the cloud on any smartphone, tablet or computer to view live or recorded surveillance video. Customers will also be able to set recording schedules, receive automated trigger alerts, enable motion detection and more.

“There is a tremendous demand among businesses for a video intelligence solution that uses cost effective NAS storage and provides both remote management tools and cloud-powered security,” said Martin Renkis, founder and CEO of Smartvue Corporation. “We are excited to help WD meet that global demand with our elegantly simple Smartvue surveillance solutions.”
