Farpointe Pyramid P-900 Proximity Reader Provides More Flexible Read Ranges

Farpointe Data announced that access control manufacturers and integrators can now provide their customers with its P-900 proximity reader that lets customers easily access a variety of up to 20-inch (508 mm) read range applications, from the parking lot to an inside door. With the reader, users can deploy Farpointe's Pyramid Series proximity cards and tags as well as support certain legacy HID and/or AWID 125-KHz proximity cards and tags.

"Of great importance to OEMs, the P-900 proximity card reader carries a lifetime warranty," explained Scott Lindley, president of Farpointe Data. "OEMs can assure their channel network and customers that they will only have to pay for this reader once. If something goes wrong, Farpointe will replace it."

Since many of the P-900 units are slated to be used outdoors or in dusty environments, the reader is engineered to comply to an IP67 rating. Additionally, it is ETL listed to comply with the UL294 standard. It works in temperature extremes from -40°F to +149°F (-40°C to +65°) and is vandal resistant.

Options include Farpointe's MAXSecure integrated high security technology and Pro-X read range boosting technology.

The P-900 mounts directly to a standard North American single gang/double gang wallbox, any flat surface such as a metal or plastic box, or parking bollard. It is available for shipment now.
